Applied Statistical Data Analysis Using SPSS

Program Overview

This intensive 2-day program is designed to provide participants with hands-on training in statistical data analysis using SPSS. The course covers both Univariate and Multivariate analysis, with a balance of theoretical foundations and practical applications.

Through guided exercises and real-world case studies, participants will learn how to:

  • Prepare and code datasets,
  • Conduct hypothesis testing,
  • Apply reliability and validity tests,
  • Perform correlation, regression, and cluster analyses, and
  • Interpret statistical outputs for research and decision-making

Duration: 2 Days (14 hours)

Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Entry Requirements
  • Basic understanding of statistics and research methods.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or similar data entry tools.
  • No prior knowledge of SPSS is required, but advantageous.

Day 1 – Univariate Analysis

  1. Questionnaire & Theoretical Framework
  2. Frequency Distributions, Reliability & Validity Analysis
  3. Hypothesis Testing – Relationships (Correlation, Chi-square, Confidence Intervals)
  4. Hypothesis Testing – Differences (t-tests, ANOVA, Non-Parametric Tests)

Day 2 – Multivariate Analysis

  1. Regression Analysis – Overview
  2. Linear, Stepwise, Group-wise, Hierarchical & Logistic Regression
  3. Regression with Dummy, Moderating & Mediating Variables, Non-Linear Regression
  4. Discriminant & Cluster Analysis (Hierarchical & K-means)
  • Mode: Instructor-led training with hands-on SPSS practice.
  • Approach: Lectures, demonstrations, guided exercises, and case studies.
  • Duration: 2 days (14 contact hours).
